Good questions

Everything you might want to ask.

A slow read through the questions we hear most, about our ferments, our workshops, and how to get a jar into your kitchen. If yours isn't here, just write to us.

The ferments

Our products

What exactly is fermentation?+

It's a slow, natural process where beneficial microbes transform simple ingredients such as vegetables and tea into foods that are more digestible, deeply flavourful, and rich in live probiotics.

Are your products truly probiotic?+

Yes. Everything we make is wild or culture-fermented, unpasteurised, and kept cold so the living cultures stay alive from our kitchen to yours.

What are probiotics good for?+

Live probiotics support gut health, aid digestion, and help maintain a balanced microbiome. Many people also notice better energy, clearer skin, and a stronger immune system when fermented foods become a regular part of their diet.

What's in your jars and bottles?+

Only real ingredients: organic vegetables, filtered water, sea salt, tea, raw sugar (consumed by the culture), whole spices. No preservatives, no additives, no shortcuts.

Are your products vegan and gluten-free?+

All our vegetable ferments, kombuchas and ginger beers are vegan and gluten-free. If you have a specific allergy, message us before ordering and we'll walk you through the batch.

How much sugar is in the kombucha?+

Most of the sugar is eaten by the culture during fermentation. What's left is a light, dry finish, usually 2 to 4g per 100ml, depending on the flavour.

Keeping & enjoying

Shelf life & storage

How should I store my order?+

Straight into the fridge. Our ferments are alive, so cold slows them down and keeps the flavour balanced.

How long do they keep?+

Kombucha and ginger beer: best within 4 to 6 weeks. Kimchi and vegetable ferments: 2 to 3 months, and they keep evolving beautifully.

Why is my bottle fizzy when I open it?+

That's the living culture doing its work. Open slowly over a sink, especially in warm weather. It's a good sign.

Can I cook with your ferments?+

Yes, but gently. High heat kills the probiotics, so add kimchi at the end of a stir-fry rather than cooking it through, to keep the good stuff alive.

Workshops

Learning to ferment

Do I need any experience?+

None at all. Most guests start from zero. Every session is designed to send you home confident and with a living jar of your own.

What do I take home?+

Always something alive, such as a SCOBY or a jar of kimchi, plus written notes so you can carry on at home.

Can you host a private workshop?+

Yes, for birthdays, team off-sites and brand collaborations. Send us a note via the contact page with your date and group size.

Where are workshops held?+

In our small studio in Kuala Lumpur. The address is shared on booking. A few sessions travel to partner spaces.

Wholesale & partners

Working together

Do you supply cafés, restaurants or grocers?+

Yes. We work with a small circle of partners who share our values. Reach out via the contact page and we'll send our wholesale sheet.

Can we collaborate on an event or supper club?+

We love this. Tell us the story you'd like to tell and we'll see how our ferments can play a part.

Do you do custom or private-label ferments?+

Occasionally, for the right project. Message us with what you have in mind.
